Following the December draw in Hamburg, England and Scotland have learned the teams they will be playing against in the UEFA Euro 2024 group stage, so they will be hard at work studying their opponents.

Scotland has been drawn in Group A with hosts Germany, Hungary, and Switzerland, while Gareth Southgate’s team is in Group C with Slovenia, Denmark, and Serbia.

The Three Lions, with their all-star team, will be aiming to improve on their runners-up finish from the previous season of UEFA’s main competition, where they were defeated by Italy at Wembley in a penalty shootout.

Scotland, led by Steve Clarke, will be driven to make it to a major tournament’s knockout stages for the first time ever.

When does 2024 Euro begin?

Between June 14 and July 14, 2024, Germany will host Euro 2024.

Germany has not hosted a major competition since the World Cup in 2006, when they defeated competition from Turkey to win the championship back in 2018.

Following its 2016 hosting by France, the 2024 competition will be the first to be conducted in a single nation. In 2020, Euro 2020 was contested in 11 different countries to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the European Championship.

Groups for Euro 2024:

The top four teams from each group will advance to the Round of 16, where they will be joined by the six group winners and runners-up.

Wales can still make it to the tournament if they advance further in the play-off system.

In their play-off semifinal matchup, Rob Page’s team takes on Finland in Cardiff. Poland or Estonia will face off in the championship match.

The other two play-off routes are Georgia/Greece/Kazakhstan/Luxembourg and Israel/Bosnia/Ukraine/Iceland.
