Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has won the International Cricket Council (ICC) Digital Fan Engagement Award. Selected as the winner from the Asia region, Nepal outperformed all other countries to secure this prestigious accolade.
Following the victory, CAN expressed gratitude towards cricket supporters on social media. The award was attributed to the remarkable 400% increase in the fanbase on its Facebook channel over the past year.
“This honor reflects the collective effort of our fans and our entire cricket community, who have been our greatest strength for years,” said CAN Secretary Paras Khadka. “By promoting both men’s and women’s cricket, we are striving to create a vibrant and inclusive cricket culture in Nepal.”
Khadka noted that CAN’s digital strategy has brought supporters closer to the game, enhancing engagement and support.
Under the Development Awards, the ICC provided various awards to six countries across different categories. Emerging cricket nations like Oman, Mexico, the Netherlands, the UAE, and Scotland were also recognized in various categories.
The award highlights Nepal’s successful efforts in engaging cricket fans digitally and promoting the sport within the country, establishing a strong and inclusive cricket culture.
